First look: F31 Tempered Glass

The Suppressor F31 Tempered Glass chassis is the latest mid tower from Thermaltake. It’s sleek, stylish and quiet, with plenty of space for expanding and customising.

What is the Suppressor F31?

The F31 Tempered Glass version is a revision of the Suppressor F31 Chassis.

Released for CES 2017, this latest ATX case from Thermaltake is a revision of the existing F31 chassis, taking that core design and injecting some new ideas and updated technology.

What makes it stand out?

The panels

The Suppressor F31 Tempered Glass version comes with a completely redesigned side panel, with a larger viewing area and a 4mm tempered glass panel. This new panel gives much more viewing area to show off your main components and is slightly tinted.

This version of the F31 has built-in sound-dampening panels on the top, front and side panels. This means your build emits less noise when it’s under load. Our test showed as much as a 7dB drop in sound levels with the sound-dampening panels installed.

Customisation

The F31 Tempered Glass Edition is designed to be customisable and adaptable to whatever setup you need. It has a full width of 250mm, with 50mm of cable management, meaning you have space for a custom liquid cooling loop or air-cooled setup.

If you’re looking to make more space in the case, you can completely remove all of the main compartment drive cages and mounting brackets. There is space hidden in the back panel to house 3 3.5” or 2.5” drives. This means you have more space for air flow or to run liquid cooling tubing and house reservoirs.

Component sizes

The case is suited for everything from Mini ITX up to full ATX size, space for dual graphics cards up to 280mm with the hard drive rack or 420mm without, as well as up to a 360mm radiator along the top or in the front.

Hidden inside the back panel (which is held on with thumbscrews), you’ve got 50mm of cable storage space, as well as mounting space for 2.5, 3.5 or 5.25mm drives, as well as the drive trays in the front.

Cooling options

The F31 is built to ensure you’ve always got enough space to cool your system. If you’re running a liquid cooled system you can take out the HDD rack and install your reservoir at the front, with 360mm radiators on the front or top. You’ve also got the option to mount your graphics card vertically in front of that tempered glass panel.

For air cooling, the case is designed to ensure you have optimal space to maximise airflow and attached fans where you need them. The case comes pre-installed with a 140mm Riing fan and a 140mm Turbo fan, but you can also fit up to two 200mm fans on the top or front.

How much does it cost?

At the time of writing, The F31 Tempered Glass chassis is available now for an RRP of AUD $149.

Where can I get it?

The F31 Tempered Glass chassis is currently in stock at PC stores around Australia.
